Fundraising

Fundraising

We have two primary fundraising events for Troop 52.  One is our annual popcorn sale. This occurs in the October / November time frame each year.  The other is our bi-annual Shred Day Event.  These happen both in the Spring and Fall.

Other fundraising activites that the troop has undertaken include:

BBQ and Snowcone sales at the City of Lakeway 4th of July celebration.
Tamale Sale at Emmaus Church
Superbowl BBQ Sale
Concessions at Community Garage Sales

Troop 52 Fundraising Policy

The purpose of fundraising is to provide for the needs of the Troop.

The Troop is a non-profit organization and therefore should only engage in fundraising to support the needs of the troop.

Fundraising activities

Popcorn – This is the only official BSA sanctioned fundraising event.

Scout Bucks – Scout Buck credits are to be given to the boys for participation in the popcorn sales fundraiser supported by the Council. These Scout Bucks are provided instead of prizes. The profits from the popcorn sales will be split 50/50 with the boys.

Other – Due to the need for equipment to support our current and projected future patrols other fundraising efforts may be necessary. Every fundraising effort should have a stated objective. (ie. With the funds earned we will purchase additional tables for the patrols). These events are to be reviewed by the fundraising subcommittee for appropriateness.

All fundraising activities are to be supported by the troop for the good of the troop, this is called “give back”. There will be no Scout Bucks awarded for these efforts.

Special – Groups that are participating in a High-Adventure activity may wish to set up special fundraisers to support / defer the cost of the High-Adventure activity. These Special fundraisers are to be organized and conducted by the participants in the High-Adventure Activity. Profits will be split among those that work.

Bonus – If the fundraisers are highly successful, and we are able to provide for all the equipment requirements of the boys. The remaining profits, over and above the needs can be used to provide the boys with a fun event or activity discount. The availability of the bonus will be confirmed through the Troop Committee.

All fundraising ideas should be presented to the fundraising sub-committee for review and approval prior to being presented to the Troop Committee Meeting.

Form for using Scout Bucks!

Here is a form for you to use to spend scout bucks. Scout bucks are earned by selling popcorn, or working a fundraisers. They can be spent on any scout related activity. That includes, campouts, summer camp, and high adventure events like Philmont, Boundary Waters, or Sea Base. Complete the form and present it to the treasurer. You can also use scout bucks for reimbursement for items purchased at the scout shop (you will need the receipt and the form to give to the treasurer).
